Police in San Francisco were investigating a shooting that forced the closure of Interstate 280 on Monday afternoon.

Two adults were injured near the San Jose Avenue exit of the freeway and are expected to survive, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Bert Diaz.

The Highway Patrol initially closed northbound I-280, which delayed traffic for miles, but by 2 p.m. the lanes were reopened. The San Jose Avenue off-ramp, however, remained shut as authorities investigated.

N/B 280 is now open after a brief closure regarding a shooting investigation. The N/B 280 off ramp at San Jose Ave/Bosworth remains closed while we process the scene. pic.twitter.com/ZtccLiFmNe
