A woman riding in a car on I-580 near Livermore was shot on Sunday afternoon, which came a day after a woman was shot and killed while driving on Highway 4 in Concord.
The passenger was shot in the leg at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Paramedics took the wounded woman to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with injuries that were described as "non-life threatening."
So far, authorities have not released in formation about a suspect.
On Saturday, a 25-year-old woman from Antioch died in the earlier shooting. After receiving reports that a silver Honda collided with a guardrail on Highway 4, police discovered bullet holes in the driver's side door, according to the highway patrol.
Police identified the victim as Destinee Shaharisha - Jenae Hillery.
It's unknown if the shootings are related.
