SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS Radio) -- Bay Area drivers are paying the nation's highest prices when they fuel up.
AAA's report found the average price of a gallon of unleaded gas in San Francisco at $3.56. In Oakland, that gallon averages $3.37, while in San Jose, you'd pay $3.35 on average.
All of those prices are well above the national average, which stood at $2.25 a gallon on Monday morning. AAA found the nation's cheapest gas in Baton Rouge, LA, where a gallon of unleaded is selling for an average of $1.80.
Bay Area prices have declined \by about 4 cents a gallon in the last week and 12 cents a gallon in the last month.
