In an unusual deal, customers had to purchase a newspaper subscription through the Bay Area News Group, which published the East Bay Times and Mercury News, to qualify to get a pair of the Anta KT4 kicks on Sunday at an Oaklandish boutique.
Clippings of Thompson's highlights adorned the design of the high tops.
The bundle, which was limited to 150 shoppers, cost $179.
