An elderly woman died and a girl was rushed to a hospital after a house fire ignited in San Jose on Monday, according to the fire department.
The woman who died was 72 years old while the girl, who was hospitalized with critical injuries, was "eight to 10" years old, according to authorities.
A 22-year-old man escaped with mild injuries by diving from his window, according to a neighbor. The neighbor said it didn't seem like the family had smoke alarms in the home.
