Vanden High School in Fairfield will be closed on Wednesday as school district officials and police investigate a threat of violence.
The Travis Unified School District announced on Facebook that classes and activities would be canceled after learning on Tuesday about the unspecified threat.
"The investigation is still underway and we are not certain of the credibility of the threat. Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of our students and staff; however, we have decided to cancel school and all school activities," the statement said.
The district's other schools will be open today and officials plan to resume classes at the high school on Thursday.
Authorities are expected to release more information at a press conference on Wednesday morning.
