What child wouldn't love the bright lights of Vegas? There are many hotels geared for families. Look at Circus Circus for instance. Kids love the Splash Zone that sits poolside with a water tower that 50 feet tall. Don't miss the huge Adventuredome either. This enclosed amusement park is a winner with the looping Canyon Blaster Roller Coaster, midway games, virtual reality zones and more.
Or consider the Mirage with its indoor rain forest, a 20,000-gallon aquarium, and a great pool area with palm trees and waterfalls. Plus there's that stunning volcano eruption...a show that happens nightly at the front of the resort. Shows like the Beatles Love from Cirque du Soleil and Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat are at the Mirage too.
Head to Venetian to take a gondola ride. Kids also love the observation deck at the faux Eiffel Tower.
Away from the strip, downtown, there's the Children's Discovery Museum. For kids older than 12, a trip to the Neon Museum Boneyard can be big fun as the vintage signs of old Las Vegas are lit in an artful way.
For parents looking to gamble, there are not many options where children can be left with supervision. At the Red Rock Casino, check out KidQuest for the 12 and under set. This is supervised fun with arcade and video games, karaoke, climbing walls and more. If that doesn't work, hiring a private babysitter could be a solution.
Want to take a little road trip out of Vegas? Did you realize that Zion National Park is a little more than 2.5 hours away?
With a little advanced planning, you might just find, there's more to do with your kids than you have time for in Las Vegas.
