San Francisco's newest tourist attraction is a sailboat that washed ashore during one of the big storms last month. And it’s already been targeted by taggers and tourists.

The multi-colored wreck now frequently pops up on social media.

“I thought it was interesting that someone just abandoned it,” says Brandon Pier, who was visiting from Spokane.

The boat's skipper dropped anchor during one of the strong storms, but the waves carried it to shore in February. The boat is leaning on its side, covered in graffiti. There’s one long rope that’s extending out to sea, suggesting that maybe the anchor is still out in the ocean.

Kathryn Stringer was walking her dog on the beach and said the graffiti wasn’t surprising, but says it’s still sad to see.

“It’s not really respectful of the owner, I guess,” she said. “I wouldn’t want my boat graffitied if I couldn’t afford to move it.”

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the boat's owner doesn't have any money to move his boat off the beach, so it falls to Golden Gate Park Police to remove it.
