SAN JOSE —The unsolved murder of a 59-year-old woman who was found dead in her home last week has left residents in the normally quiet neighborhood worried about security.

Police continued to remove evidence on Tuesday from the home of Bambi Larson. The mother of two adult children and manager at a biotech firm lived alone on Knollfield Way, according to neighbors.

It was also revealed on Tuesday that Larson died from "sharp force injuries of neck and torso," according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office. But officials there declined to answer other questions about their examination of Larson.

Her body was found in her bedroom on Thursday after colleagues became worried when she didn't arrive for work.

Neighbors are shocked, saddened and worried about their safety.

"Everybody is anxious to find out who did this," said George, who lives two doors away, but declined to give his full name. "Nobody really has any idea."

Larson was a happy, bubbly person who'd lived in the home for roughly 20 years, according to George.

He said that police officers have said there was no forced entry to Larson's home.

Police patrols have been increased in the area to soothe nervous residents.
