Oakland police officers announced on Thursday morning that they've arrested a man in connection with the shooting of a 4-year-old boy in the head.
The boy was in critical condition after the allegedly accidental shooting inside an East Oakland home on Wednesday afternoon. The boy reportedly shot himself with the firearm.
The man's name was not revealed. Nor did police say what criminal charges he may face.
The man who was arrested and a woman were in the house on the 2400 block of Richie Street at the time. The woman was initially detained, but released by police.
Oakland police said they would release additional information on Thursday morning.
