Authorities released four of the five men who'd been accused of the deadly shooting that took five lives at a Halloween party in Orinda.
Their release Monday was prompted by the Contra Costa County district attorney's decision not to bring charges against the men.
However, the DA's office said charges could be imposed if more evidence is uncovered from the mass shotting in a crowded home that had been rented through Airbnb for a party.
The suspects had been arrested by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office
"We stand by our investigation, and the arrests were made pursuant to a judge's order," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Although the district attorney may want more investigation done, the persons arrested, and responsible for the crime, will ultimately be held to account."
Labrawn Wallace, 28, of San Mateo, is the only suspect still locked in jail. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy.
