The shooting had a far-reaching impact on the BART train system.

The San Bruno station has been closed for hours and Oakland's 12th Street station was briefly closed while police with weapons drawn boarded a train to search for at least one suspect from the shooting. The disruption caused significant delays and made it difficult for travelers to reach San Francisco International Airport.

#BART now running between SFO and San Francisco and East Bay, but not stopping in San Bruno station. #BusBridge deactivated.
