It's so close!
It looks like the “Friends” reunion special for HBO Max is all set.
On Wednesday, the streaming platform released the official trailer that’s going to make fans scream.
Announced more than a year ago, “Friends: The Reunion” special will finally air on HBO Max on Thursday, May 27, the platform confirmed with the release of a briefer video teaser last week.
The new trailer is heftier, clocking in at 2 minutes and 10 seconds, and oofers a glimpse into the format, which looks like it includes a couch-ensconced chat with James Corden as moderator; a classic script read-through; some expected tear-jerking; and loads of trivia tidbits like Lisa Kudrow explaining that that the first day’s table read was the first time she met any of the cast.
While only Tom Selleck is peeped in the two-minute trailer, other special guests on the upcoming special will include David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon, Malala Yousafzai, and more.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, the video was revealed during WarnerMedia’s upfront presentation to advertisers on Wednesday.
The beloved sitcom premiered in 1994 on NBC and ran for 10 years. But it never really left our TV sets via numerous instant syndication runs (most recently on Netflix until 2019 when it shifted to HBO Max last year), and as a way unexpected inspiration in hip-hop.
Is it too much to ask for a Rembrandts reunion now too?
