Most Outside Lands presale tickets sell out in minutes with lineup TBA

San Francisco music festival Outside Lands has a set of dates, but it doesn't have a lineup. That didn't stop presale tickets – with some expensive exceptions – from selling out within an hour of becoming available on Wednesday, and little more than a day after being announced.

Festival organizers announced on multiple social media platforms they had sold out of "Eager Beaver" tickets – discounted from tickets when the lineup is announced – by 10:33 a.m. on Wednesday, just 33 minutes after a limited, but unspecified, quantity was released to the public.

Organizers first announced the presale on Tuesday morning, revealing the festival will return to Golden Gate Park from Aug. 5-7. General admission tickets ran for $359, and VIP tickets cost $799.

After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of Outside Lands in 2020, the festival returned for Halloween weekend last year. Lizzo, the Strokes and Tame Impala were among the headliners.

It’s not yet clear when organizers will announce this year's performers, but a ticket contest might offer some clues. Those who missed out on Wednesday's ticket release can offer their own headliner predictions for a chance to win a pair of three-day VIP tickets. The contest, which requires linking a Spotify account, ends at 8:59 p.m. PT on April 20.

Some considerably more expensive tickets are still available. Concertgoers can still score three-day passes to designer Ken Fulk's "Golden Gate Club" for $4,495 before fees. Those tickets give the purchaser access to all areas of the festival, as well as a "personal concierge," a dedicated entrance, food, drinks and a seat on the "Golden Gate Club fleet" to drive you around the festival.
