WATCH: Trailer released for new 'Blindspotting' TV series, based and shot in Oakland
Billed as a spin-off to their critically-acclaimed 2018 film "Blindspotting," the new trailer for Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal's TV project of the same name has been released - and it's all about the Bay Area.
"This has been the most rewarding and humbling artistic experience of my life," Diggs tweeted on Wednesday.
He and Casal co-wrote and executive produced the project.
"The bay isn't just in the backdrop," Casal told SFGATE in February. "Like the movie, the bay is in everything the show touches. So much of the clothing is sourced from local brands and the music is heavily sourced from bay artists. It's in the soundscapes, the dancing styles, the art on the walls. It's all carefully curated to bring the bay to the world."
Casal will take the role of Miles in the show, just as he did in the movie.
The two-minute trailer announces the show's June 13 premiere on Starz.
Both proud Bay Area natives, the long-time collaborators met while attending Berkeley High School.
