Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Spider-Man were thrown into a frenzy last night when what appeared to be the trailer for the upcoming film "Spider-Man: No Way Home" popped up on social media.
Most of the summer, fans have sprouted rumors and theories for when and how the long-awaited trailer for the third Spider-Man film to feature Tom Holland would drop. Some expected to see it at the conclusion of the Disney+ exclusive show "Loki" but were let down when it didn't appear.
To make matters worse, the studio knows that fans are excited to learn more about the film, and their social media team has been joking with fans.
Rumors have circulated about the movie for over the past year as many fans think that previous Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield may be making a return, following the studio confirming that actors who played villains in their films would appear.
Fans have also taken to social media the apparent leak.
The excitement for any content surrounding the film stems from the fact that the movie will be released in theaters in December, and the studio has not released anything but the name of the movie.
Now, many have been left heartbroken as the trailer that they held high expectations for was leaked.
Sony was quick to remove any traces of the trailer when it made its way online, making it even more curious as to if it was the actual thing or not, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Unfortunately, Sony has also not released a comment on the situation, leaving the mystery ever-growing.
However, some assume the trailer will be released today, but this time on purpose.
