SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – The Golden State Warriors' Andrew Wiggins is expressing regret about getting a COVID-19 vaccine despite reservations about doing so just before the NBA season started last year.

Wiggins nearly missed out on a championship and All-Star season with the Warriors when he insisted he did not want to follow San Francisco's city law and get the COVID-19 vaccine. The forward ultimately had the best season of his young career, making his first All-Star team and playing a pivotal role in the NBA Finals to help the Warriors win a championship.
Yet – after all that – Wiggins actually regrets getting vaccinated to protect himself against the deadly virus.
"I still wish I didn't get it," Wiggins said in an interview with Fansided. "I did it, and I was an All-Star this year and champion, so that was the good part. But for my body, I don't like putting all that stuff in my body. I didn't like that it was either get this or don't play."
Had Wiggins done what Kyrie Irving did in Brooklyn, refusing to get the vaccine, he would have been a part-time player and his presence would surely have been less impactful. One could argue the Warriors do not win the NBA Finals without Wiggins.
Irving's refusal also seems to have ruffled feathers with the Nets as he failed to secure the extension he had wanted with his contract.
