SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr was brutally honest on Friday about how much he enjoyed celebrating following their NBA championship-clinching victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm hungover," Kerr told reporters at San Francisco International Airport after the Warriors' plane landed on Friday night.

It didn't take long for the champagne to flow in Golden State's locker room following Thursday night's 103-90 win in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden, with a number of players streaming the festivities on their personal social media pages and the team's accounts providing a glimpse of the festivities.

The Warriors, who won their fourth NBA title in eight seasons and became the first team in league history go from worst to first in a three-season span, reveled in proving doubters wrong, especially those who said the team would not reach this summit again following superstar forward Kevin Durant's departure in free agency three years ago.

So much so that the Warriors didn't stop in the locker room, celebrating deep into the Boston night. Kerr, who has now won nine NBA championships as a player and head coach, said the celebrations took on extra meaning because of who was able to share in them.

"We had a great night last night," Kerr said. "An incredible night, a late night, but just a special one just celebrating with the team and families. It was a beautiful night."

The Warriors' party is just getting started. Golden State will commemorate the victory with a parade down San Francisco's Market Street on Monday.
