At 10 a.m., officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded to Folsom and Mabini streets near the Moscone Center due to a report that a city-owned vehicle had been carjacked.

The employee who reported the incident said that he was forced out of his vehicle.

Officers found a car that matched the stolen vehicle's description nearly four miles away in Potrero Hill. The driver led officers on a police pursuit through the city until crashing near 16th and Potrero Avenue.

One of the vehicles involved in the chase — either the stolen vehicle or a police cruiser — ran into a city bus stop. One person was killed and another five victims were injured.

"Five victims were transported to the hospital, one of which was declared deceased due to the collision," a police spokesperson said.

Police have not released any information on the person who was killed. It is unknown if they were waiting at the bus stop.

The suspect is in custody and is being treated at a local hospital.
