This comes after another possible case was determined negative at the jail at the beginning of August.
Cases of monkeypox have been sweeping through the Bay Area in recent weeks, with the latest count as of last week at 546 cases in San Francisco, out of 1,945 in California and 11,177 nationwide.
This latest positive case at the jail is an inmate that was booked into the facility on Sunday.
They're currently being isolated from the rest of the jail population.
The public health department told KCBS Radio in an emailed statement on Monday afternoon that no other incarcerated people had been exposed, and that the infected person didn't acquire the case in the jail.
