SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Two pedestrians are suffering from major injuries following a crash in Berkeley.

Just before 10 p.m. Saturday, two pedestrians were rushed to the hospital after a car crash, the Berkeley Police Department told KCBS Radio.

A 74-year-old woman and 76-year-old man were walking in the crosswalk on Addison Street when they were stuck by a vehicle that was southbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

The driver of the vehicle, a 78-year-old woman, remained on scene after the collision and cooperated with police, the department said.

Authorities closed Martin Luther King Jr. Way for three hours to conduct an investigation.

There is no word on the current conditions of the victims.
