SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Four people have been injured and 15 had to evacuate their homes after a car crashed into a building and caught fire in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood on Friday night.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the 1538 Clay St. around 9 p.m. after a car crashed into a residential building and hit a gas line that started a fire, San Francisco Fire Department Spokesperson Jonathan Baxter told KCBS Radio.

Two people had serious injuries and were transported to the burn unit and two others suffered from minor injuries, officials said.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire at about 10:15 p.m. and the Red Cross is helping people who were displaced, according to fire officials.

San Francisco police are investigating the cause of the crash and no arrests were made.
