7 injured in San Francisco Muni streetcar crash

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Multiple people have been injured in a collision involving two muni streetcars, the San Francisco Fire Department reported Wednesday afternoon.

The collision occurred at around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Embarcadero and Brannan Street when one streetcar crashed into another.

According to preliminary reports, seven people were hurt in the crash. Five have been taken to the hospital, the other two are being evaluated at the scene.

Muni said this is affecting the N-Judah and T-Third lines. Bus shuttles will operate between Market and Main Streets and the Chase Center.

The fire department asked the public to avoid the area.
