An Alameda gym is under fire for using what some are calling racist language towards Asian Americans.
Island Personal Training's website reportedly advertised their massage therapists as ones that "speak English...kind of rare for the field round these parts," according to posts made on the business's Yelp page, with screenshots of the website posted by commenters.

The statement also said the gym's services are not like "shady Asian 'massage parlors,'" according to the posts.
The statement continued by asking, "Do they even change their sheets (a just question based on what goes on inside those establishments)?"
People flooded the Yelp page by giving the business one-star reviews. "Racism should not be acceptable anywhere, and certainly not coming from a business in a diverse, beautiful community such as Alameda," said one user in a post on Saturday.
Island Personal Training, which has locations in Redding and Alameda, has since closed its website and made its Facebook and Instagram pages private.
The gym's owner, Jason Wilson, did not respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment at the time of publication.
