Two East Bay law enforcement organizations have vowed to continue the search for Philip Kreycik, a Berkeley man who disappeared in early July after going for a run in Pleasanton.
In a Friday post to Twitter, the Pleasanton Police Department and Alameda County Sheriff's Office promised to deploy search and rescue teams in an important push to find the Bay Area father.
"We’re searched extensively throughout that mountain ridge, but tomorrow we’re going to go back in there to fine-tune areas we believe need a second look," Alameda Sgt. Ray Kelly told KCBS Radio.
In the past few weeks, drones, thermal imaging cameras, helicopters and other tools have yielded no sign of Kreycik, however, authorities believe there are areas with dense foliage and deep ravines that need further inspection.
Despite public belief that the search had been called off, Kelly assured that rescue teams have been working every weekend.
"We’re never going to stop searching," he said. "But as time goes on, the likelihood of success becomes less and less."
