A missing 2-year-old Oakland boy has been returned safe, after the California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert on Thursday morning, authorities said.
The Oakland Police Department said Michael Hamilton was dropped off to the Eastmont Substation just after 9 a.m.
Hamilton was abducted on Tuesday at 8 p.m. near Fruitvale Avenue and East 27th St., officials said.
On Wednesday at about 10 p.m., a relative of Hamilton called the OPD and said the child's aunt and her friend had kidnapped him.
Authorities identified the suspect in the Amber Alert only as Tinasha, a 30-year-old Black female.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and the car mentioned in the Amber Alert has not been found. Authorities are asking for help in finding the 2021 black Nissan Versa, with California license plate number 8TYX914.
