
An SUV has slammed into a market near the El Capitan Theatre near Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood.
According to LAPD, the driver that struck and injured five people in Hollywood failed a field sobriety test.
Those five people have been hospitalized.
FOX 11 has confirmed its reporter Hal Eisner and a photographer, who were assigned to the reopening of El Capitan, are among those taken to the hospital. Three are said to be more seriously hurt than others.
All are said to be in stable condition.
On Friday, after being closed for the past year, Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre welcomed moviegoers back.
Fox LA's Gigi Graciette tweeted this Friday afternoon: "Prayers for my friends and @FOXLA colleagues @HalEisner and photographer Joab Perez, who are in the hospital after being hit by an out of control car, and for the others injured. Reporter @KocoMcAboy reports driver arrested on suspicion of DUI; police say he said he fell asleep."
