While the public health situation is trending in the right direction ahead of Apr. 20, the annual gathering at Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park will not be happening for the second straight year.
While smaller gatherings will be allowed in San Francisco both outdoors and indoors as of April 15th, large gatherings such as the 4/20 celebration that draws thousands to Golden Gate Park are not permitted.
In 2020, San Francisco Mayor London Breed publicly urged people to not attempt to congregate at Hippie Hill, which was fenced off and guarded.
This year she hasn't addressed the holiday, but expect the location to once again be fenced off and inaccessible.
