Authorities say 2 suspects avoiding arrest ram stolen car into Oakland police vehicles

Armed suspects wanted in connection to robberies and carjackings rammed a stolen car into an Oakland Police Department patrol vehicle and Emergency Rescue SUV to avoid being arrested.

The incident happened in the 2700 block of San Pablo Avenue on Thursday night, according to a press release. Officers took two suspects into custody and they are believed to have been involved with several violent crimes.

Officers reported that they ceased two loaded firearms from the individuals.

A day before Thursday's incident the Ceasefire team arrested four gang members believed to be involved with multiple violent crimes including shootings in Oakland, police said. Officers recovered five firearms with high-capacity magazines during the investigation on Wednesday.
