Devin Williams, Jr., 24, called authorities Wednesday and allegedly told them he wanted to turn himself in. He was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol officers near Coalinga.
At around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dublin police responded to the 3100 block of Colebrook Lane due to reports of a shooting. When authorities arrived, they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an Alameda County Sheriff's Office press release, Williams, Jr. was allegedly identified as the shooter by witnesses.
A manhunt was conducted for Williams, Jr. until his surrender. He was believed to be driving either a gray 2007 Volkswagen Jetta with a California license plate 6MEA916 or a 2015 Hyundai with a California license plate 9BMB449.

According to Alameda County Sgt. Ray Kelly, Williams, Jr. knew the victims — a married couple who had a young child.
Police said a thorough background check was conducted before Williams, Jr. was hired. He had no history of mental health or other issues. "This was not a random crime, this was a very bizarre chain of events that unfolded and I think as the story unfolds you guys will understand that better," a spokesperson with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
