At 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency personnel responded to the scene after a report came in about a person struck by a train, according to a statement released by BART officials.

The man was rescued and transported to nearby Highland Hospital. He was conscious when the medical team made contact with him, according to BART spokesperson James Allison in an email to KCBS Radio.

Trains experienced serious delays until 2:50 a.m. on Wednesday, but no stations were closed during the incident.

While the delays were ongoing, A/C number 18 buses ran between MacArthur and Ashby for commuters.

No foul play is suspected. Video evidence shows the man trespassed onto the trackway from the platform at MacArthur Station, said Allison.
