Sarah McCorkle, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Bay Area office said this storm will bring some much-needed rain.

"While it won't be anything crazy to relieve the drought or anything like that it will be very helpful because we haven't gotten that much rain in the past few months," McCorkle told KCBS Radio.

She said the central coast will be hit most especially the mountains in Big Sur and Santa Cruz.

"The rain will definitely hit everybody over the Bay Area, but it will be the rain will be most focused on those areas," she explained.

The expected rain won't be like the atmospheric river that hit in December but McCorkle said it will be more than what the Bay Area got in January and February.

"In comparison to what we have had just this year it really is a normal kind of system that we would see in the wintertime but just because January, February and March really up until this point have been pretty dry that is why it's significant," she said.

She added that it won't make a big dent in the drought but will help with the drier months approaching.
