The Bay Area will experience some April showers this week, but probably not enough for May flowers.

Northern Sonoma County will experience the first rainfall early Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service Bay Area, with most of the region set for at least a little bit of light rain the following morning. Heavier rainfall is due later this week, beginning in the North Bay again on Wednesday night before reaching much of the rest of the Bay Area on Thursday.
"That will bring some pretty significant rain to the Bay Area, snow to the Sierra and, really, some beneficial late-season precipitation," National Weather Service Meteorologist Ryan Walbrun told KCBS Radio's Holly Quan and Eric Thomas during an interview on Monday morning.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento and Reno advised residents to prepare for winter weather through Tuesday, with the former office's advisory in effect until 2 p.m. that day. Walbrun said that Lake Tahoe is expected to receive as much as seven inches of snow with the earlier storm, while the second could result in “an excess of a foot of snow to the Sierra."
As for the rest of the month, Walbrun said this week's rain isn't necessarily a sign of things to come. He said there are "hints" that "we could still see another chance of rain" before May 1, but none this weekend.
"I do think that after that Thursday system we dry out at least for this upcoming weekend," he noted. "Everyone will notice the below-normal temperatures this week."
