A much-loved ice cream shop in Larkspur is closing its doors for good.
After five years of selling unique scoops to happy customers at 250 Magnolia Ave., Posie Creamery announced its last day was July 3.
In an Instagram post, the store thanked its loyal patrons saying, “you guys have been there for us through all of it, and that’s reason to celebrate!”
With ice-cream stores scattered across Marin, Posie made itself special with distinct flavors like cherry kernel ice cream and elderflower peach, enjoyed by many.
It was the decision of chef and owner Kyle Caporicci to finally say goodbye to Posie. The lease for the space expired and he decided not to renew it, Caporicci told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Despite the sadness of losing a community favorite, Posie customers have something to look forward to. As the ice cream store promised, “while this is the end of Posie as we know it, we’ve got some great things on the horizon.”
Caporicci is planning on selling ice cream by the pints at local grocery stores under the name “Ghost Dog Creamery,” reported SFGate, and some of Posie’s most beloved flavors will be included.
