A body found near Pedro Point in June has been identified as an 84-year-old grandmother who went missing three months ago.

A chief deputy from The San Mateo County Coroner's Office confirmed to KCBS Radio on Tuesday that the body belonged to Kan Jean Chang Fung.

Fung was originally reported missing in late May when she failed to return to her Richmond District home after going for a walk.

On the day of her disappearance, California Highway Patrol officers gave her a ride to the Marina Safeway as a courtesy. She was not seen again.

Her body was found on June 10 in Pacifica and was recently identified by the coroner through investigative measures.

Her family described her as "a very kind person, always smiling and loves the outdoors."
