The Santa Clara County sheriff’s bomb squad has determined that a possible grenade found inside a Mountain View home Wednesday is safe.
The Mountain View Police Department tweeted just before 12 p.m. that the house on McCarty Avenue had been evacuated, after someone reportedly found a hand grenade inside. The bomb squad arrived about 40 minutes later, the department said.
Officials have not said how they learned about the device or provided any further details about the incident.
