Police investigate weekend disappearance of East Bay teenager

A search is ongoing for an East Bay teenager who police say went missing overnight during the long weekend.

The Pleasant Hill Police Department on Monday announced it was looking for 15-year-old Brandon Abbett. Police said he left his home between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with an unknown destination.

Abbett is 5-foot-6 and weighs 107 pounds, according to the department. Police said they couldn't provide a description of the clothing the brown-haired, blue-eyed teenager was wearing.

An investigation into Abbett's disappearance is "active," Pleasant Hill police said. Anyone with more information can call the department at (925) 288-4600, referencing case no. 22-174.
