SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – San Francisco Mayor London Breed conceded to challenger Daniel Lurie Thursday – ending her reelection bid.

Breed stated in a post on X, “Being Mayor of San Francisco has been the greatest honor of my lifetime. When I first took office in the middle of the night, back in 2017 when Mayor Ed Lee passed, I didn’t know what lay ahead. But I answered the call and always gave San Francisco and its people my heart and soul.”

In the latest update, Lurie had 56 percent of the ranked-choice vote compared to Breed’s 44 percent.

Breed wrote she had called Lurie to congratulate him on his victory and will be working to ensure a smooth transition.
