Your bank account might get a boost on Friday, as California officials prepare to send out hundreds of thousands of stimulus checks.

The California Franchise Tax Board told KCBS Radio on Friday it planned to issue about 34,000 direct deposit payments to qualifying residents that day before starting to mail an additional 750,000 stimulus checks on Monday, all as part of the Golden State Stimulus II program.

California residents who earned no more than $75,000 in 2020 and have lived in the state for more than half of the tax year are eligible to receive a stimulus payment, which ranges between $500 and $1,100, depending upon the number of dependents and if a person qualified for the first round of stimulus payments earlier this year.

Recipients with zip codes ending in three numbers between 376 and 584 will have their checks mailed between Monday and Dec. 3. A tax board spokesperson told KCBS Radio the checks and direct deposits in this round, combined, are worth almost $555 million.

The next round of checks will be mailed to a new set of recipients on Nov. 29, with additional groups beginning to receive theirs every two weeks after that. The final round of checks will start to be mailed on Dec. 27.
