
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man from California was stabbed and slashed near Times Square on Wednesday morning, reportedly by a man who made a derogatory comment about his daughter moments before the attack.

The 45-year-old tourist was at W. 40th Street and Eighth Avenue just before 3 a.m. when he was approached by another man, police said.
The man made a derogatory comment about the tourist’s daughter, sparking an argument between the two men, PIX11 reported.
During the dispute, the suspect stabbed the tourist in the abdomen and also slashed him across the neck, police said.
He then fled into the Times Square–42nd Street subway entrance at W. 40th Street and Eighth Avenue.
The tourist was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a sweatshirt, police said.
It's unclear where in California the victim was from.
