WATCH: Caltrans crew catches highway landslide on video

A highway crew in California’s northernmost county got more than they bargained for when they were nearly caught in a landslide that partially shut down a road.

The dramatic video, shot along Highway 96 about just west of Happy Camp in Siskiyou County, was posted to social media Wednesday by Caltrans District 2.

The landslide brought rocks and trees in partially covering Highway 96.

Other landslides have been detected in the area over the last two weeks, however, this slide "is within the limits of a previous slide area," according to Caltrans. "Please be aware that this slide remains active and conditions can change," the Twitter post warned.

The road later reopened to one-way traffic control with minor delays.
