Embattled former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli could be facing more trouble.
State election officials have received a complaint that he may have violated campaign finance laws, according to a new report in The San Francisco Chronicle.
The complaint reportedly alleges that the former mayor paid thousands of dollars to a girlfriend and an executive at his winery and improperly spent other funds during his six years in office.
According to the paper, there were 10 instances of potentially problematic spending and fundraising from the mayor, dating back to when he was first elected to the Town Council in 2014 to during his mayoral campaign in 2020.
Foppoli resigned from office last Friday, following allegations of sexual assault from seven different women. He continues to be under criminal investigation by both the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and police in Palm Beach, Fl where he was most recently accused of sexual assault.
The former mayor has continuously vehemently denied all of the allegations. He has not commented on the new complaint.
