The phone number residents can use to report illegal fireworks is 1-833-885-2021.

The line has a voice menu so residents can reach the correct law enforcement number by entering the first three letters of their city's name, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said in a release. Residents also have the option to select "unincorporated areas" as their location which will connect the call to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, the release said.

All fireworks are illegal in Contra Costa County and are especially dangerous with the current drought conditions. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District encourages anyone who sees fireworks being used to report it to the non-emergency line.

The district's Fire Investigation Unit also has a tip line for reporting the sales of illegal fireworks in Contra Costa County, the release said. Residents can call and leave a message on the Arson Tip Line at 1-866-50-ARSON to report fireworks sales. Tips can be anonymous but fire investigators may need more information about the incident so leaving your name and phone number is encouraged.
