A Tesla employee died at the Fremont plant on Wednesday morning, according to a statement Tesla provided to KCBS Radio.
The employee, a production associate, collapsed while in the middle of working on a powertrain line, which is an "improved motor inverter and gearbox," according to the website.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, better known as Cal/OSHA, is now investigating the death, and how it may have been work-related.
The worker's name has not yet been disclosed.
This latest incident comes just over a month after an employee was shot and killed by another employee in the factory’s parking lot.
The Fremont Police Department and Cal/OSHA did not respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment at the time of publication.
