Tragedy has struck twice for the family of John Khan, the owners of a popular auto repair shop in Antioch.
Less than a month after their house burned to the ground, Khan was killed by a reckless driver in a car crash on Highway 4, according to a report from KTVU.

The deadly collision occurred on the afternoon of September 10. Khan picked up a customer’s black Chevy Tahoe and was bringing it back to his repair shop, Antioch Action Auto. He was driving along Highway 4 near the Hillcrest exit when a white Infiniti collided into the side of his vehicle.
Khan lost control, crashed into the guard rail and died at the scene. He was 55-years-old.
The California Highway Patrol told the outlet that Khan was not at fault. No drugs or alcohol were involved, however speed was a factor, which is typical of most crashes on the highway.
The incident was the 13th deadly crash on Highway 4 this year.
"Somebody was rushing on the freeway. I don't know where they had to get to. What their emergency was. It was negligence," Vanessa Khan, the wife of John Khan, told the station.
"My husband did not die in vain. His life was taken," she added.
According to the CHP, investigators are expected to recommend that the District Attorney press charges against the driver of the white Infiniti.
John Khan leaves behind his wife and five children.
The fatality occurred less than a month after the Khan family’s Discovery Bay home was destroyed by a fire.
Vanessa Khan said she is determined to both rebuild their home and keep their auto shop open.
Friends and family have set up a GoFundMe for the Khans, which has reached over $12,000 as of 11 a.m. Tuesday with a goal of $75,000.
