A group of Oakland sports fans has been turning its attention to
charity work during the pandemic because even as the need has grown, the volunteer force has shrunk.
Forever Oakland is a group known for hosting weekend tailgates and doing plenty of charitable giving along the way.
"Since the pandemic, we've expanded," founder Griz Jones told KCBS Radio. "The first Saturday of every month for the last four months in a row, Forever Oakland has organized feedings for unhoused citizens and trash pickups for all seven districts in Oakland."

Many who had been volunteering for the homeless have been scared off by the pandemic, while the homelesness crisis has only grown worse.
"So our group is under 60, we have no underlying health issues and we stepped up our game," Jones said.
They still have the barbeque and cooler, however, while keeping the good deeds going.
