After an extensive remodel, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience Store at San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square is reopening to the public on Friday with a brand new look – designed by the same design group that created Apple's retail stores, according to reporting by Eater.

Eight Inc. has transformed the 5,985-square-foot shop at 900 North Point St. to allow workers to actually make chocolate in the store, along with roasting hazelnuts and almonds for customers to see and smell.

But loyal customers of the 170-year-old chocolatier don't have to worry, the interior's update won't affect the merchandise. The chocolate squares and quintessential sundaes will remain in place – with the first 170 customers on Friday eligible to receive a free hot fudge sundae, according to reporting by Hoodline.

New, large windows will also allow customers incredible views of the Bay and Alacatraz while they shop.

This renovation is just the first of three rounds at the square, according to Hoodline.

The official unveiling on Friday starts at 11:30 a.m.
