San Francisco's GLIDE Memorial Church is pulling out all the stops for its traditional Christmas Eve luncheon.
GLIDE serves the needy every day, but it’s only on Christmas Eve when House of Prime Rib donates 3,000 pounds of beef to the famous church.

The crowds began lining up early on Friday to get a plate of food served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"I only come to GLIDE on special occasions because they have the best stuff," one patron told KCBS Radio. "It beats me cooking at home so this is great."

GLIDE feeds thousands of people on Christmas Eve, however, Jean Cooper, Community Safety and Training Manager at GLIDE Memorial Church, said they’re even busier on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
"We serve more because we're serving for longer hours," she explained. "I think last Thanksgiving we did about 2,800 meals, 5,000 over two days. Today it's concentrated in a couple. It’ll be busy out there."
Those in need are also welcome to stop by at GLIDE on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pick up a special meal of ham or turkey.
