Ike Shehadeh, founder and owner of Bay Area-based Ike's Love & Sandwiches, has turned his San Francisco sandwich shop into an empire of 80 locations nationwide. One of the most popular aspects of Ike's is the Dutch Crunch bread, which of course is super popular around the Bay Area. However, Ike revealed to SFGate that he's not really a fan of it.

"Dutch crunch is actually not that good. It isn't. Nobody wants to destroy their mouth after they eat. So that's why it hasn't left San Francisco or the Bay Area.” Shehadeh said noting that he hated it as a kid in the Bay Area due to how his mouth would feel for the next few days.

Ike has now developed a softer, sweeter version of Dutch crunch that's developed in each state where the locations can be found. You can read the whole interview here.
