The massive Monterey Cyprus on Beach Park Boulevard split apart and fell around 1 a.m., the large branches crashing on several vehicles and a former church and daycare building, as well as multiple cars.

"I'm just shocked because this church has been closed for many years and these trees have just been here, tall and beautiful, for so long," a neighbor told KCBS Radio, adding that she is thankful no one was injured.
"I honestly thought that I would see more trees coming down in Foster City area and it hasn't been, but this is definitely a shock to see," she said.
According to Foster City police, nearly a dozen trees have fallen in recent days. At least 18 people have died in California due to storm-related incidents, some from falling trees.
The owner of the former Foster City church said he was planning on having the building demolished this week. Instead, he's planning on cutting up the wood and keeping the site safe.
